Grammy-Nominated Producer
I'm Adam Cherrington — professionally "Wyshmaster." Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum producer for artists like Tech N9ne, Lil Wayne and T-Pain, and one of the first people to build a real online beat-leasing business, years before BeatStars existed. Here's how I got here.
Browse The Beat StoreI started producing around 2000 — no shortcuts, no famous last name, just years of grinding on a sound. Hip hop, R&B, pop — I wanted to be able to make records for whoever walked through the door, not just one lane.
That range is what eventually put me in rooms with artists across the entire spectrum of the genre, from underground legends to platinum radio records.
In 2009, a record I produced — The Lonely Island's "I'm On A Boat" — premiered on Saturday Night Live and turned into a viral moment that ran through MTV and BET. The following year it earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Song.
That moment was the catalyst for my move to Los Angeles and a publishing deal with Peermusic — and it's the record most people still bring up first when they find out what I do.
I've had a long-standing relationship with Strange Music, Tech N9ne's label, and produced records for a roster that spans Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Rick Ross, Pitbull, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, Nelly and 80+ more major and independent artists.
Beats I've built have landed placements in video games like Midway's NBA Ballers and NARC, on top of the SNL/MTV/BET sync work. Multi-platinum certifications, BMI writer and publisher credits (WM Beats Publishing) — the paper trail is real.
While I was still producing for major labels, I started leasing beats online directly to independent artists and producers — back when that wasn't really a thing yet. I built one of the earliest real online beat-licensing businesses, years before BeatStars existed, and eventually turned it into Wyshmaster Beats.
That's the same store you're looking at right now — instant delivery, real licensing contracts, no gatekeeping. I built it because I wished it existed when I was coming up, so I built it myself.
When I'm not producing, I'm still building ways to put other artists and producers on: I spent 7 years as Campus Director at Ex'treme Institute (Nelly's music business school), where I authored the accredited "Beatology" curriculum. Today I run Wysh Live Reviews, giving independent artists real, on-air feedback on their music; host The Wysh List podcast; and executive produce The Hit Kitchen — a producer battle competition show built for producers like the ones buying beats right here.
